Your Money Habits Start Long Before Your First Paycheck
“We don’t support the electric company.”
I heard that one constantly growing up. It meant turn off the lights and stop being wasteful. I say it to my own kids now and we joke about it all the time.
Your money habits start way before your first paycheck. They come from small stuff. What your family talked about, and what caused tension. The good ones we hold onto. The bad ones we try to rewrite.
So what’s a phrase or lesson about money you heard growing up that stuck with you? The ones that helped, and the ones that made no sense at all.
And if somebody names one you recognize from your own house, tell them. Half of these turn out to be way more common than we thought.
